How many of you have decided you’re ready to start Owning Pink? Are you ready to reclaim your health, your femininity, your creativity, your sexuality, your peace, your joy, and your mojo? Do you know anyone else who needs to Own Pink too? Pink Power is exponential. It’s like the power of prayer (whether you pray to Jesus, Jehovah, Allah, Buddha, Athena, or Captain Crunch.) When two or more are gathering in Pink, there is power- as well as love, creativity, strength, sexiness, inspiration, and fun. So spread the word and encourage your girlfriends to Own Pink with you. Create your own Pink Posse, and invite them to cross the Pink threshold with you. Or simply join the rest of us here and be part of our collective Pink Posse. We’re all here to Own Pink together, and you will not be alone.

Introducing Mojo Mondays

Ready to get started? Today is the first of many Mojo Mondays. Every Monday we’re going to give you an exercise you can do at home to help you find and keep your mojo. These exercises will be the kind of thing we do live and in person at Owning Pink workshops. But for those of you who can’t join us in person, Mojo Mondays will be your chance to experience Pink Power at home. While most Mojo Monday exercises can be done alone, I encourage to use these exercises as an excuse to gather your girlfriends together, because trust me. Doing these exercises with your Pink Posse is a speed train to mojo. Forget book clubs and knitting circles. Let’s start Pink Posse gatherings all over the world. We’ll be radiating feminine energy and estrogen from across the globe! Surely, you all know two other women who could benefit from mustering up a little more mojo. Invite them over. Serve a few snacks and green juices (or cosmos, if you’re feeling naughty). Do this exercise together, and voila- you’ve got a Pink Posse! Dress up, take photos together, and make sure you do a lot of laughing. Trust me, you’ll love it.

You ready? Okay, here we go.

You will need:
  • One scarf/blanket/sheet/towel (preferably Pink)
  • A free and open mind
  • The will to Own Pink and reclaim your health, your femininity and your mojo
Here we go!

Step 1: Find someplace peaceful that fills you with mojo. Maybe it’s a special spot outside- on the beach, near the river, in a meadow, or by a lake (can you tell I like water?) Or maybe it’s in the mountains on a trail you like to hike, on a red rock or in a palm tree oasis in the desert, or in your garden. You don’t have to go far. Find someplace that you visit frequently. Or just choose your favorite room in your house, the spot that makes you feel awakened and sacred and hopeful.

Step 2: Lay your scarf on the ground to create the Pink threshold.

Step 3: Now I invite you to set an intention for what will happen when you cross over this Pink threshold. Standing behind the scarf, you might be struggling with what life has thrown at you. Maybe you’re having trouble owning health after a cancer diagnosis. Maybe you’re struggling to find peace after a divorce. Maybe you’re yearning to find joy after losing someone you love. Maybe you haven’t been Owning Sexuality, Owning Creativity, Owning Motherhood, or Owning Spirituality. Maybe you’ve lost your mojo, or maybe you’re just wishing to optimize an already juju-ful life. Whatever it is, you’re about to cross over to another place. As you stand behind the scarf at the threshold, set an intention for what you’re about to do. Close your eyes and take a few deep cleansing breaths. Now ask yourself this. How do you want your life to be when you are Owning Pink? What will your life look like? What will you Own? How will that change you? Let yourself dream big. Send Ella (as in L-ah, your constricting left brain) to time out and invite your muses (or JABA- Jesus/Jehovah, Allah, Buddha, Athena, etc) to come to you. Allow yourself to be as detailed as you can in your vision. Then set an intention for your journey.

What’s an intention? It’s something you intend to be/do/feel/experience/make happen. It might be as simple as “I will get my mojo back” or “I will Own Pink.” Let it come to you, but have it clearly formed in your mind. Mine is, “I will walk the Pink Path and inspire women to Own Pink their own way.” (Plus, “I will Own Sexuality, Own Spirituality, Own Balance, Own better Health, Own Surrender, Own Peace…I could go on…)

Step 4: With your intention clearly set, step over the Pink threshold. If you feel inspired, be creative about how you do it. Cross with a dance or a series of yoga poses or by walking on your hands (if you’re more coordinated than I am!) Leap or crawl or tiptoe across. Hell, inch across on your belly or ask someone to push your wheelchair, if you don’t have the strength right now. Just don’t let anyone drag you. You have to make this choice on your own. Go for it!

Step 5: You are now Owning Pink. It starts right now, this very minute. You have identified your desire, set your intention, and crossed the threshold. Welcome, Pinky! You are in very good company here in this Pink Posse. Remember that Owning Pink is an ongoing process- something that will evolve as you grow.

Step 6: Affirm the choice you have made. Think about how it made you feel to do this and allow an affirmation to come into your mind. Like “I am healthy.” Or “I am spiritual.” Or “I am Owning Pink.” Whatever speaks to you. Mine is “I am whole.”

Step 7: Let this be your mantra, at least for now. (Later on, we’re all going to pick a very personal mantra, but that’ll be a ways down the Pink Path.) Say it over and over to yourself. Say it out loud. Shout it from the rooftops. Whatever it takes. But start Owning it now, girlfriend. It’s all yours.

Tell us how you crossed the threshold! What intentions did you set? How did you cross? What affirmation came to you? Send photos of you crossing the threshold. Print out a copy of the photo for yourself. Hang it somewhere you’ll see it often.

Congratulations, Pinkies!!!! You’re Owning Pink!

Yours in Pink Power,

Lissa
