Mojo Monday: Yule Blessing Ritual To Help You Manifest Your Dreams

The 21st of December is the day of Yule. The longest night. It is the celebration of the return of the light, and a first shimmering hope that spring will come to the land with the increase of daylight in the months to come.

Here is a ritual that you can do to celebrate the return of light. It's a continuation on my autumn ritual.

Yule blessing ritual

What you will need

  • a candle, preferably white
  • a small pen knife, or a sharp branch, or anything else that can scratch in the candle
  • a matchbox
  • an intent for the winter months. What do you wish more energy for? Which aspect of you is still hidden underneath a pile of thoughts and emotions, and really deserves the spotlight?

The Ritual
Go to your sacred space as the sky begins to colour for the fall of night. Get your candle, and decorate it with symbols of your intent. Focus on things you wish to manifest in your life. It may be just a word, or if you want to focus on your music during the winter months, you could carve in musical notes. Just make your candle something special, and something that really signifies what you intend for the winter months to come.

Then put the candle in a holder, and strike the match. As you light the match, say that you lovingly let go of this- that you are handing it over to the Universe, and then as the match lights the taper, state your intent again, and say something like: "May this light shine on my intent, bring to light what is yet hidden."

Then meditate on the flicker of the candle light. Ideally set it aside so it can burn out.

Over the upcoming months, keep your intent in your mind, by journaling about it each week, for instance. And don't underestimate the power of a really strong intent!

I would love to hear how this ritual worked for you, Pinkies.

Love and winter light,

Tamlyn

Hiya, PInkies. I just took my candle to Muir Woods, where the ancient redwoods were lit by luminaries and they were having a Winter Solstice celebrations. Pagan dancers dancing to flutes mixed with Christmas carols amidst the trees. The veil is supposedly thinnest between the spirit world and what we consider earthly on this longest day of the year. I could almost see the tree nymphs, hobbits, elves, and fairies as I walked past the luminaries (and the crowds) into the deep darkness of Cathedral Grove, where I could swear the angels brushed against me...

And there, I lit my candle. Thank you Tamlyn.. Love you all! Lissa
