The most exciting event for me was getting to meet Lissa Rankin. Soon after our “virtual” meeting (first via Twitter when I answered her query for favorite kid-friendly holiday rituals and later on her blog, we learned that we share similar passions for everything from African-American women’s literature, to providing exemplary health care to women, to being mommies with mojo, to helping all people create authentic, happy lives. Quite simply, we recognized each other as soul sisters.
On that happy day last week when we finally met in person, we planned several great ways that Midwife for Your Life and Owning Pink can join forces (“Wonder Twin Powers Activate!”) to inspire and support our readers as they take risks and create happier, more authentic lives.
Lissa graciously consented to allow me to tape an interview with her on my favorite topic—happiness!
When you comment on an Owning Pink blog post, we invite you to be authentic and loving, to say what you feel, to hold sacred space so others feel heard, and to refrain from using hurtful or offensive language. Differing opinions are welcomed, but if you cannot express yourself in a respectful, caring manner, your comments will be deleted by the Owning Pink staff.

By Lissa Rankin on Tuesday, 04/13/2010 at 4:37 PMThanks sweetie pie! I've been so busy with patients today I haven't really had a chance to be present with Owning Pink. So thank you love. Great questions. Pinkies? You up for the challenge?
Oh my goodness! I've been
By Stacey (not verified) on Tuesday, 04/13/2010 at 3:25 PMOh my goodness! I've been working in the hospital all day (and I'm still here, actually) and so I missed checking in on Owning Pink earlier!
This is actually just perfect, of course, because it gives me a huge happiness boost after a very long and intense day (with a long and intense night ahead)!
I love this conversation so much, and I'd love for the Pinkies to join the conversation!
What is a simple activity that consistently boosts your happiness? (Like Lissa, you could share many!)
Is there anything you find yourself doing consistently that detracts from your happiness? What helps you to get back on track?
Again, I hope you will share what works – and doesn’t work – for you here! Much love, Stacey
