Be yourself.

Even if yourself is a real know-it-all critical asshole sometimes. Really be that ass. Deeply love that ass. There are lots of other asses out there that will be relieved to hear they are not alone and you may even find yourself more popular than normal.

My cat taught me an important lesson this week. In the summer I spend a lot of time in my back yard, which means I'm constantly going in and out of my patio door. Chloe is an indoor cat, but she likes to lay inside the door and watch what I'm doing. As I go in and out of the house, I'm always having to step over her as she eagerly sniffs the air and gazes longingly outside.

But she never moves.

I have been living on the edge of something for a while, something elusive and fearful, something powerful but terrifying. I was stuck in a dark, constricted, oppressive space which seemed without end. I had no words to express what I was on the edge of, or how it felt.
