The Folks Who Keep The Mojo Flowing
Lissa Rankin M.D. - Founder & Pink Doctor Of Mojo
During a turning point in her successful medical and art career, Lissa founded Owning Pink in April 2009 as she began her journey as a published author to give voice to her journey to integrate all the disparate parts of herself. Since its launch, Owning Pink has grown under her nurturing guidance into a thriving community, web site and Center for integrative medicine, all of which provide a platform for her work and the work of others called to support "Pink" approaches to disciplines as diverse as health, business, self-discovery and socio-ecological action. Today, Lissa is the guiding force and voice of Owning Pink, the leading practitioner at the Owning Pink Center, and the author of What's Up Down There? Questions You'd Only Ask Your Gynecologist If She Were Your Best Friend blog and book (St. Martin's Press, September 2010). She is also a nationally represented encaustic painter, author of the book Encaustic Art: The Complete Guide to Creating Fine Art With Wax (Random House, August 2010), and a practicing OB/GYN. Lissa lives in northern California with her husband and fellow artist, Matt Klein, their daughter Siena, and Grendel the Pink MojoPup. Follow Lissa on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. Learn more.
Dana Theus - Pink Business Guru & Lissa's Business Partner
Dana began her association with Owning Pink as a community member and entrepreneurial coach for Lissa. Building on her 25 year experience in business and consulting, Dana has stepped into partnership with Lissa to evolve Owning Pink from a blog to a business. In addition to coaching the Owning Pink staff as needed, Dana is grounding Owning Pink in rolling out new businesses, sponsorships and content partnerships. Dana is owner of
Magus Consulting, through which she helps to grow businesses through heart, intuition, and a desire to change the world. She also makes gorgeous jewelry (and blogs about it) under the name
StoneTosser. Dana lives in the Washington DC area with her husband, two sons, and dog. Follow Dana on

Lauren Nagel - Editor-in-Pink
Lauren is a writer, musician, dancer, educator, adventurer, and all-around Pink-enthusiast dedicated to Pleaping (taking a Pink leap of faith), flying high, and failing with gusto. Before colliding with Owning Pink in a flurry of big beautiful Pink sparks in June 2010, Lauren juggled a cubicle career with her creative endeavors, traveling the world to sing in a reggae band, compose music for film and television, and write. She found Owning Pink through fellow maker-upperer-of-words Joy Mazzola and is honored to follow in her footsteps as Editor-in-Pink. Lauren lives with her fellow Gabriel, dog Otto, cat Goose, fish (pl.) Michael Jacksons, and turtles Nick and Vanessa in Oakland, CA. In addition to her role at Owning Pink, Lauren writes for San Francisco music site
The Owl Mag and her personal gratitude blog,
Full of Grate Great, and can be seen playing in several bands throughout the Bay Area. (She’s got soul; musically and otherwise.) Follow Lauren on

Megan Monique Harner - Lovemuffin Extraordinaire, Pink Communicator & Community Manager
Megan began her journey of healing and self-discovery when she was 19. After attending several seminars and workshops, it became clear to her that there is far more to life than working jobs we hate and living from paycheck to paycheck. Now, at the ripe old age of 23, Megan creates and leads developmental workshops for men and women that provide tools and techniques for people to live a life they love, and do it well. She continues her own journey of self-development, knowing that the more work she does on herself, the more she will be able to assist others. Megan is spending 2010 on the Magical Eyes Tour, traveling around the country and staying on Pinkies’ guest beds and sofas. Using her Magical Eyes, she interviews people in her host cities about how they Own Pink, transforming the way people see the world. Magic Megan is wise far beyond her years, and blesses each person she meets with her wonderful energy, kindness, and authenticity. Be sure to watch for Megan sightings on the Magical Eyes Tour blog … she could be coming to a town near you! Follow Megan on

Joy Mazzola - Assistant Editor & Pink Coach
Before Joy Pleaped (took a Pink leap of faith) to join Lissa in starting up Owning Pink, her professional background ran the gamut and included almost a decade in the nonprofit world and a few ill-advised (albeit brief) stints in corporate America, which taught her that she really only thrives where love runs the show. Writing has been the thread woven through most of Joy’s personal and professional life: she’s written and edited for guidebooks, newspapers, books, and other publications. Serendipity led her to meet Lissa at a writing workshop via their mutual teacher and hero,
Nancy Slonim Aronie. In addition to her roles at Owning Pink, Joy is a certified
Integral Coach who works with brilliant, awake, magnificent humans who wish to fully align with their life’s purpose, both at the
Owning Pink Center and throughout the bay area. Joy lives in Berkeley, CA with her partner Matt, cat Percy, and Chihuahua Penny. She meditates, mediates, collages, paints, spills things, hikes, drinks tea, drinks wine, cook s badly but bravely, punctuates like a champ, hugs inappropriately, makes up words, overcommits, journals, yogas, travels , seeks, and loves. Matt Klein - Mojo Man (and Lissa's Hubby)
Matt is Lissa's husband and number one fan. He also keeps the wheels turning behind the scenes. Owning Pink couldn't function without his love and energy. In addition to running Lissa's life and watching their daughter Siena, Matt has an MBA from Dartmouth's Tuck Business School and, with Dana's help, knows how to take Lissa's vision and run with it. Like Lissa, Matt has taken many pleaps (Pink leaps of faith) in his life. When Lissa met him, he was consulting for venture capital firms-and hated it. He left the corporate world to become an artist and to help Lissa expand the vision of Owning Pink. In addition to being Lissa's go-to guy, Matt is a retired Peace Corps volunteer who served in Africa, a gifted writer, and the world's most romantic husband (yes, Lissa wrote that part!) And doesn't he look like Matt Damon?
