Tips For Trusting The Process

Trust The Process

"Come forth and bring with you a heart that watches and receives." - William Wordsworth

It isn’t always easy to trust the process. I can say that with a sense of intimate knowing because I spent the last year trusting the process. Not always knowing exactly what that meant or what the process even was. Making decisions that few people understood or agreed with. Uprooting my entire life, twice, in less than a year, because it felt right, because I knew somewhere deep in the core of my being that I was walking a destined path. If only I would trust the process.

Domestic Violence: It's Closer Than You Think

Domestic Violence, Child Abuse

Somewhere right this minute a 5 year old is hiding under their bed with their ears covered, humming quietly to drown out the sound of their parents screaming at each other down the hall.

Somewhere right this minute a 10 year old is sitting alone in a dark treehouse, hoping to hide from the anger of a drunken parent who always turns their anger on the only person in the house small enough to not be able to fight back.

Consider The Acorn: Change, Potential, and the Ability To Receive

change transition acorn

Something big is afoot. I’ve been saying it all year. The minute 2011 trumpeted its way in, I knew. I could just feel it. Change was in the air.

And I was not happy about it.

So I crossed my arms and shook my head and said, “Sorry Change, go knock on someone else's door, I’m not having it,” and closed the door on Change to continue with my comfortable -- and safe -- little routine. Meanwhile, Change pitched a tent out in my front yard and taunted me from a distance. I would peer at it through the curtains,  but refused to engage it in any way -- and we danced around each other in this manner for quite awhile.

Then I made my mistake (which actually wasn’t a mistake at all).
