Leo Full Moon

Leo Full Moon

Today marks the annual full moon in Leo, the zodiac’s proud and spirited Lion Queen. We are all regal in our own individual ways. Where do you reign supreme? Curtain’s up! It’s officially showtime, as the Leo full moon wants us to flaunt our talents like today was a cosmic cabaret.  Burst onto the world stage in the most glamorous way possible. Luxe Leo loves when we sparkle, flash, and drip in conflict-free diamonds. After all, this is the sign that rules pleasure, indulgence, and full-bodied self-expression.

Aquarius New Moon & The Year Of The Dragon

astrology chinese new year

It’s the first new moon of 2012, and this time, it’s also the Chinese New Year. The fierce, fabulous Dragon roars in, the flames of its breath fanned by air-sign Aquarius. Dragon years are intense and karmic, and can bring births, deaths and major transformations. The last one was in 2000, another year like 2012 that had significant myths and even legends around it (remember the Y2K data-crash scare that never happened?). End of the world? Doubtful, but with the Dragon’s transformative powers, it might be the end of the world as we know it, a time of important change.

Cancer Full Moon: Open Your Heart

cancer full moon

The first full moon of 2012 is here, and it’s in sensitive, heart-centered Cancer. Since this zodiac sign is naturally ruled by the moon, it’s a super-powered date that will bring out our highest, most intuitive selves—along with a whole range of emotions. Consider this a holiday hangover of all the fuzzy family vibes, and catch up with your clan if you didn’t get enough bonding time in last month. Open your heart to other people everywhere you go. The “power of love” is no joke, so make compassion your engine. We once heard Dr. Christiane Northrup say that the electromagnetic field of the heart can expand up to eight feet outside of the body. Pretty cool!

Understanding Miracles

In the movie "Oh, God!” the title character, played by George Burns, explains to co-star John Denver that the last miracle he performed was the 1969 Mets – the implication being that God is a kind of celestial superhero whose random interventions result in some amazing things happening here on earth. This is likely how most folks view miracles, and pretty much how they’re defined on Dictionary.com:

How Many Apples Did You Eat Today?

I was walking around Golden Gate Park recently, chatting with my spiritual running buddy Tricia Barrett, when Tricia piped up, “So how many apples have you eaten today.”

I had only eaten a bowl of brussels sprouts for breakfast, so I answered, “None.”

If Jesus Gave A TED Talk

Having just faced the challenge of distilling my message down to 18 minutes for a TEDx talk I found myself looking at a blank computer screen, wondering what I would write as the Christmas post for my blog. And I thought “What if Jesus had only 18 minutes to share the entire New Testament?"
