Take Time to Recharge Your Batteries

It’s been a hell of year, Pinkies. I mean- good stuff- all of it exactly what I’ve asked for. But in the course of one year, I’ve moved my family to Marin County, started an integrative medicine practice at CLEAR Center of Health, launched and managed a team of 22 Pinkies who help me run Owning Pink, communicated with you Pinkies, completed one book and written another, lead workshops, prepared for 3 solo art shows, and struggled to stay present for my husband and daughter. It’s A LOT. Too much, really. And yet, I did it.

Owning Your Dreams- Never, Ever Give Up on YOU

IMG_0246When we started Owning Pink just over six months ago, I set a personal goal- I wanted to write books. I had already written a memoir that Barbara Poelle, my literary agent who I lovingly call Monkey Barbara, shopped around. A whole slew of editors took the book to editorial boards, where it got shot down by a whole slew of marketing departments who didn’t know how to put it in a box. The glowing rejection letters piled up.

Being Grateful For The Simple Pleasures

IMG_1778I’m in Ohio with my family to celebrate Thanksgiving this week. It's tempting to feel grumpy, after the way we arrived here. My last dozen trips to visit family resulted in 24-hour disasters of delays, cancellations, and sleeping on smelly carpets on the floors of O'Hare Airport. I swore off going home to be with family- until this year.
