How To Change Your Life Before 11:00am

We live in a strange time – where few of us ever seem to have any time.

Do you ever find yourself:

  • running in circles like the proverbial tail-chasing pooch to accomplish projects --but  find yourself having to start them over because you were distracted by something else?
  • zig-zagging across town like a taxi driver at rush hour to help a friend -- and forget to buy cat food for Mitzy?
  • not finishing a project you started -- and feel guilty when you walk by it each day?
  • cramming in so much ‘stuff to do’ that you allow your passion for life to be one more thing set aside?

If you answered Yes to any of these questions, you’re not alone. We tend to spend most of our life in a rush to get all things done -- while actually getting nothing done -- and never really enjoying life enough to make the important things happen!

Learn the secret to saving your time and getting more done, with less effort.

The single most significant change you can make to your life is to cut the waffle and make sure you focus on, and ONLY DO, what is the most significant for your work life – all before 11:00am. Making a point to deliberately do these things before 11:00am may sound strange, but it works! Try it tomorrow and you will see for yourself. This action has totally transformed my life and saved me from many hours of stressful, pointless work. You will be shocked, and you too will end up with more time, more joy and more money.

Let us begin.

Grab a pen and paper and write the answers to the following four questions – what you write will change your life. Are you ready?

  1. Imagine you only had two hours a day to work. Literally. You CANNOT do more work than that. What would you do in those two work hours to effectively move towards your goals?
  2. Imagine you were very sick and had only two hours a WEEK to work. What would you do?
  3. What are the three things you do that bring you the most money in the least time?
  4. What are the three things you do that bring you the most real joy and fulfillment in the least time?

With these answers you are now ready to change your life.

You may recall the famous "80/20 Principle" which states that 80% of your success comes from only 20% of your input and 80% of your hard work only gives you 20% of your success – so basically, 80% of your time is not at all productive. What this means for you is that if you give yourself a break you will actually get more done. Focus on achieving the 20% that actually has a powerful result and ditch the other 80%. By doing this you will have 80% more time to enjoy life and pursue things you have been putting off.

Every morning or every evening the night before the next day dawns, the first thing you do is ask yourself these two questions:

  1. If I had to stop work at 11am today/tomorrow what would I have to do?
  2. If these were the only things I did today/tomorrow, would I be happy and satisfied with myself?
Then follow the 4-step plan:
  1. Fold a sheet of paper to credit card size. Write the things you need to accomplish before 11:00am on that paper. This is your ‘to do’ list…DO NOT add to it. DO ONLY these things and DO NOT do anything else until they are done.
  2. Try to condense the amount of time you think this will take. DO ONLY what is needed to effectively achieve the task. DO NOT waste time on frills and expansion. The reason so few people fail to have any time do what they really love – they get lost in details and distractions.
  3. DO NOT check your emails until 12pm! Yes, that's right, not until you have done the things on your list. Also, DO NOT engage in meetings or phone calls unless they are honestly essential and part of your ‘to do’ list. And even then, keep it short, sweet and to the point. Do you want to create space in your life or do you want to work all day?
  4. After 11:00am, take a good break. Go and do something you have been putting off because you didn't have time. Relax, treat yourself and enjoy. If you have to do more work, squeeze it into a two hour slot and apply the same principles and then retire to other things that bring you joy. The more refreshed and happy you are, the better your life is and the easier you can manifest what you want.

Do less, achieve more…and enjoy!

Very interesting indeed! I

Very interesting indeed! I don't work *am unable to*, & still end up feeling like I do nothing all day! In my case, I think I actually need to branch out, not branch in! Lol.

Give it a shot and see what happens...

These things may appear a bit extreme at first - but honestly, if we look back over our lives only a handful of things REALLY made a big difference. When we focus on those things - our lives become truly rich.

Worth a Try!

Nice idea..I don't know that I'll stop work at 11 a.m., but certainly worth a shot to make the list, focus, and see what gets done ;)

Thanks,

Interesting

Wow that is one bold plan. I am currently attempting to regain control of my schedule and accomplish some major goals and lifestyle changes, so I think I may give this a shot. I completely agree that most of my time is wasted on distraction, expansion, or unimportant "stuff".

Thanks for the idea - I think for me, big bold changes may be what it takes to jump start a new way of approaching work, so I really appreciate this suggestion at this time!

Coupled with truly focusing on what my main priorities are, this should be a good recipe for success!
