Taking the Next Step Toward Self-Discovery

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

Dearest Pinkies, please welcome Mojo Mentor and Pink Goddess of Intuition Caroline Diana Bobart. Caroline will be hosting the upcoming Owning Pink Self-Discovery Workshop, a bi-weekly teleconference series running from April 8 – June 17. (Pinkies have already signed up, so go ahead! We invite you to register soon.)

Welcome Caroline as she talks about the upcoming Self-Discovery workshop, the Pink Group Agreement, and the vast potential within all of us.

*****

From the moment I first laid eyes on the Owning Pink website back in July, 2009, like many of us, I felt utterly moved to take a closer look at this creation that Lissa had birthed just a few months before.  As both a natural and a trained professional intuitive, the urge was too irresistible for me to not take a look at what this energy looked like on the unseen realms of awareness.  What, I wondered, was the glue that was holding this community together and why on God’s green earth did it glow so brightly?!  It had captured my imagination and was like nothing I’d quite seen before.  It was incredible to me that all this goodness and love I was feeling coming from a community that had an online home. And so, during one of my daily meditations, I sat down to take a look at the energy flow and spiritual dynamics around Owning Pink that was causing such a visible stir in so many people’s lives.

What I saw

What I found was profoundly beautiful and as I looked at it, I could see that part of Lissa’s inspiration for birthing this creation was that intuitively, she’d been picking up on the unspoken communication from people on the same or similar wavelengths about the magic, healing and transformation that can take place in a like-minded community based on unconditional acceptance and love.  As part of my inner explorations, The Pink Group Agreement was crystallized and subsequently adopted by the community to be shared with other Pinkies and consciously engaged.

One of the really unique things that I’ve noticed about Lissa’s style as a leader is that she has a huge heart and a spirit that comes alive and sparkles with celebration with each and every wave of passion, support and goodness that ripples through the community.  Indeed, many would call her fearless.  It has been such a huge process to witness the growth that both the community as a whole has taken since its conception as well as the Pinkies within it.  What has been even more crucial is that Lissa and her team have effortlessly been able to keep pace and dimension with the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the community delivering tangible structures and supports upon which the community can continue to flourish and build.  Perhaps the most visible and grounded of these is about to take physical form in the shape of the Owning Pink Center: the co-creation of the Owning Pink team and all Pinkies over the past months – those of you who have been sharing, growing, healing, integrating, processing and participating in Owning Pink Workshops, Mojo-Live Calls, posting and sharing on the Posse forum, blogs, and on many many other levels and less overt ways.

How the Self-Discovery Workshop Factors In

As a part of this momentous step-up into a place of more interactive, accessible, conscious vitality and wellness for Pinkies on the virtual side of things, I am thrilled to be leading the first ever online Owning Pink Self-Discovery Workshop which starts on April 8.  This workshop series incorporates all the abilities and gifts that I bring to Owning Pink as a Mojo Mentor … my intuition, clairvoyant and healing abilities, experience in creating sacred space, spiritual counseling, teaching and group work.  Through the inherent multidimensionality of the 6th chakra or third eye, these sessions involve powerful guided visualizations created to meet each of us where we are on our spiritual path.

Within a shared group agreement we will light up and amplify the voice of our true Selves!

Self-Discovery is a process, and one of the most magical aspects of embarking upon a program like this with other Pinkies who are in agreement to their own healing and evolution – as well as that of others’ – is that there are no limits to the levels and layers on which you will be positively affected by this inner-work.

If you have been searching for a way to turn up the volume on your intuition, release your past and move forward into the future, a brighter, lighter, more on-purpose YOU in the company of other bright, capable souls, then perhaps you might consider that this Owning Pink Self-Discovery Series might have been created just for you.  At this critical time in Owning Pink’s evolution, I’m so looking forward to sharing this 12-week journey with you, and seeing what magic we can create!

With love and exuberance,
Caroline

Note from Owning Pink founder Dr. Lissa Rankin:

Pinkies, I will be present, helping hold the sacred space, during these workshop. Caroline will be guiding us, but I am on my own path of self-discovery and can’t wait to see what she has in store for us. Join us and take the next step towards realizing that you already have all that it takes to have all that you want. Big hugs and love- Lissa

See Yourself As Creator: The Divine Lies Within Us All

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

Dear Pinkies, please welcome Pink Goddess Elisabeth Manning, Founder of Conscious Conception Fertility Coaching. Elizabeth helps those who want to be parents find “peace, certainty and partnership with your baby in the creation process.” How beautiful – and how Pink?? This woman exudes peace and positive energy. Needless to say she has had quite an impact on me, and on Owning Pink. The below post by Elisabeth was actually a comment on my post the other day about creating versus procreating. We couldn’t keep the words of this wise and wonderful Pinkie to ourselves any longer. And so, without further ado, please give a warm welcome from your Pink hearts to this incredible Pinkie … one from whom we’ll surely be hearing more!

*****

I cannot begin to tell you the swell of love and appreciation I feel for each open heart in this forum sharing their experience, strength and hope with her Pink family. I am overwhelmed by the love I had no idea was waiting for ME, here, my new Pink “home.” This will be what I get to OWN, and powerfully, so thank YOU. I cannot wait to see what we can create together…

I find my own heart already knowing you, yet longing to connect to each and every one of you individually to hold your heart and tell you, “it is all so perfect; our stories, our journeys, our outcomes, and there is and never was anything ‘wrong.’” Never. All is perfect where we are, we are enough now, in this moment, and exactly where we are supposed to be…

The way I see it? When we get down to it, we came to this “earth school” to:

  1. Live the illusion of separation so we can find our way back to the truth that there is no separation (like drops of water we are, then to drop yourself into the ocean, what are you then? Individual unique expressions of the One, so celebrating and loving the unique chemical combination of YOU as creator, as aspect of creator, is of utmost importance!)
  2. Learn to create and see our creations manifest into physical form. This is what many of us are powerfully discovering n the Law of Attraction, etc but in my book it is imperative we learn how to connect with Source to do this with integrity/ethic and for the highest good)
  3. Along the way we make agreements with other aspects of the One (family, friends, co-workers, strangers whose lives we touch and who touch us) so they can help us take steps. The challenge? So many agreements can appear ugly yet they are our greatest teacher because they help us wake up). Much of our healing is to overcome this, and discern our “stuff” from others’.
  4. We also have agreements with Creator and ourselves that, if we are not clear on, can forget and “listen” to the outside noise, programs, etc thinking it is our own. This is where we get to do the inner work: Who am I? What do I love, how do I find my way back to myself? This is my favorite part when I coach others.
  5. To have experiences. Which helps us remember: it is never about right/wrong, good/bad (third chakra) it is only about “which experience do I want to have?”

Seeing ourselves as Creator

When we are clear that we want to experience ourselves AS CREATOR this definitely is a step in the right direction. Problem I see is, we are limiting ourselves wayyyy too much. Creator at its very essence is LIMITLESS, therefore the first step is to get out of our own way and touch in with that. Meditations to run the limiting pictures and give you an experience of what it feels like to be limitless can begin powerfully here.

I believe we get into trouble when we are missing out on seeing the beauty and respect for ourselves as powerful creators. That can be easily taken for granted. Then when something shows up that we “didn’t want,” we fall victim to the illusion that we are victims “I didn’t ask for that” (but ahhh, if we take on the idea that we attract everything that happens to us– then at some level you did– so let us find that thread to get your power back!), when in reality we are just unconsciously creating. NO need for guilt, blame, that is a waste of precious energy. Just OWN it…

So yes, much unwinding to do if we are to get “right” with our creations. It is all about releasing that which is NOT us, that limits us. These can be very very deep, but I see it loosen and fall away all the time at the energetic level (much more accelerated and we do not have to re-enact our drama to overcome it-otherwise I never would have gotten this far!)

Misunderstood/misaligned creation energy often shows up energetically in a distorted second and fifth chakras. More on this in a later post, as I really can’t stop myself from this subject! It is my life’s work to understand creation and manifestation and there is SO much richness to be explored and discovered, ladies.

My Own Story

The fact that I choose not to have children at 40 is also a part of my story. I made a very conscious choice to give birth to ideas, and to be a midwife for others creations and births in this world. Once I found the core of myself as Creator, and my “Primary Postulate” (life purpose) to “Be in service to the Highest Good: To bring light to the world and positively affect others that we all may be elevated into the greater human potential,” I can DO ANYTHING with this. It was then I got scared, because I actually saw how big that was. =) That is a healthy fear and I have since seen how my creations were leading me to more and yet more creations. Now I am creating a television show – who knew??? But am I scared now? Not a bit. I am a vibrational match to my creations now. It is as though the idea “of course, why NOT?” is now a fun playmate of mine!

To ALL our amazing, beautiful creations in this amazing and beautiful world … I have sooo much gratitude for all of you.

Seeing the Creator in you,
Elisabeth

20 Tips For Being Beautiful From the Inside Out

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

"Rainbow Woman," artwork by Rita Lloyd, (c) 2004

As women, we are inundated with messages that we are not beautiful enough just the way we are.  We must pluck, dye, lose weight, wax, exfoliate, tone, manicure, highlight, paint, flatten, inject, and dress in haute couture to be “beautiful.” Well, I’m here to say, on behalf of women everywhere- bullshit.

Recently, someone said to me, “Beauty is health,” and I found myself cringing. After all, I know some supermodels who smoke crack, binge and then purge, and suffer from a weak heart. But they make it into the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition, and by most American standards, they are “beautiful”. When I heard this comment, I found myself flipping it around in my head. I’d argue that “Health is beauty.” When I see someone taking steps towards whole health, when I see a body being nurtured, a loving mind, and a bright, sparkly spirit, I see true beauty.

It may sound cliché, but I genuinely believe beauty comes from within.  So I’d like to write the kind of beauty article you’ll never see in Cosmo. Not that you shouldn’t put on eyeliner if it makes you feel pretty or get a pedicure when you feel like treating yourself, but I believe that if you follow these tips, you’ll positively radiate.

20 Inner Beauty Tips

  1. Keep your heart open. See others with Magical Eyes and let love glow through you. Look beyond the masks people wear and see the beauty within them.
  2. Begin each day with thoughts of gratitude. Appreciate every experience, even the challenges.
  3. End each day by relaxing every muscle in your body. Start at your scalp and allow each hair follicle to breathe. Move to your forehead, your cheeks, your temples, your smile lines (call it natural Botox!). Relax your shoulders and watch then un-hunch. Relax your chest, your belly, your hands, your perineum, your hips, your knees, your ankles, your toes. Allow every part of your body to soften.
  4. Eat a whole foods diet. For extra glow, include as many raw foods as possible.
  5. Allow 10 minutes per day for stillness. Meditate, pray, breathe- just be quiet with yourself.
  6. Affirm your inner beauty. Make positive statements of affirmation to yourself (i.e., “I approve of myself. I am valuable. I am loving and lovable. I am abundant.”) Say them. BELIEVE them.
  7. Donate your time or money to helping the world. Being in service to those in need helps illuminate the bright shiny light within you.
  8. Exercise at least 30 minutes each day. Even if it’s just a walk around the block, getting your juices pumping helps quiet the mind, tone the body, ground you, and nurture the spirit.
  9. Release judgments and criticisms. Accept that all of us are doing the best we can, imperfect though our actions may be. Give us the benefit of the doubt as we strive to be the best we can.
  10. Let your creativity flow. Find a way to express yourself and allow yourself time to tend the creative spark within you.
  11. Smile often. Not only will it benefit your health, but it will touch others. Even better, laugh out loud. Try laughter yoga. One elderly lady wakes up each morning in her nursing home, laughs like mad, wiggles her arms and legs in bed, and screams, “I’m alive! I’m alive!” The nursing home attendants swear it’s her fountain of youth.
  12. Have orgasms. Often. As regularly as possible. With or without a partner. Talk about inner beauty…
  13. Be authentic. Tell the truth to yourself and others. Let your freak flag fly. Living outside of your own authenticity is never pretty.
  14. Engage in work you love. Nothing like a job you despise to make you scowl.
  15. Tend your spirit. Find spiritual community in a church, temple, mosque, or yoga class.  Commune with the Divine. Let your aura sparkle.
  16. Be free. Dance. Sing at the top of your lungs. Run. Scream. Paint outside the lines. Yodel during sex. Scatter daisies around the boardroom. Pass out balloons. Give free hugs. Get unstuck and set your inner freak free.
  17. Pamper your body. If it makes you feel beautiful to wear lip gloss, give yourself a facial, take a long hot bath with lavendar bath salts, get a massage, or deep condition your hair, go for it!  But do it for you- not for anyone else.
  18. Avoid being mean. It’s a sure way to negate beauty.
  19. Practice preventative health. Why wait until something goes wrong?
  20. Look in the mirror every day and say, “I am beautiful, just the way I am.”

Try it Pinkies! And report back. What works for you? What other inner beauty tips do you have? Let’s shake up the beauty industry and show ‘em what true beauty is all about.

Beautifully yours,
Lissa

What If God Doesn’t Reward or Punish?

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

Here at Owning Pink, we talk a lot about “the Universe”, which we all know is code for “that Divine being we will leave unnamed so that Pinkies of all creeds and faiths may insert the name of who they worship.” But today, I’m going to talk about the Divine Being I know and love- and for lack of a better word, I’m going to call this being God. When people ask me to define my religion, I say, “Buddha is my homeboy but Jesus is my favorite.” Which pretty much makes people laugh and then they drop the question. The Dalai Lama says, “My religion is kindness,” and that certainly resonates with me. But it doesn’t quite go deep enough for me (no offense, Dalai Lama- I love you!)

Exploring My Personal Faith

So what is my personal religion? Who is God to me? Uh…I’m not sure. I’m still trying to figure it out (no biggie). This weekend, the Pink Tank gathered together to dream up what’s next for Owning Pink, and while they were here, Pink Goddess Dana and I were talking about this oh-so-important question. Dana said, “What if God is neutral?” And I stared at her blankly, the way I usually do when someone starts referencing abstract concepts in the same sentence as the word “God.” For me, God is love- and God is SO easy to understand.

You Don’t Have to DO God

Not long ago, my mother wanted to take my 4 year old daughter Siena to church and Siena said, “But Nana, I don’t know how to DO God.” For 3 seconds, I felt like a bad Mama. Have I failed to instill within my daughter a belief in the Divine? But then I realized that none of us need to know how to DO God.  It’s no wonder Siena said what she did. After all, most of us are raised to believe that God is something you DO- by saying the catechism, by reciting the Torah, by singing from the hymnal…you know the drill. But what if this simply isn’t the case? What is God is bigger than any action?  So I told Siena that she already knows God, even if I haven’t taught her the Lord’s Prayer. She nodded and said, “I know God in my heart.” Amen, sister.

My Personal Religion

It got me thinking. What is the nature of the Divine? Why is it that I have such profound faith but have never taken my daughter to church? What is MY religion? What can I teach my daughter that feels authentic to who I am and what I believe?

I’ve tried to find a church home. Raised in the Methodist church, I never fit in. I grew up loving Jesus- and I still do. I mean, seriously, the dude is pure love. What’s not to worship? A humble human being served his calling with Divine grace and the world persecuted him. All he wanted to do was show up how love could heal the world. And we went and bastardized it- killing people in his name. As Anne Lamott’s bumper sticker says, “Who would Jesus bomb?” I mean, seriously. Jesus rocks.

A Loving God Wouldn’t Punish

But something about the religion of my childhood never quite worked for me. My faith told me that Jews were going to hell because they hadn’t accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. But some of my best friends were Jewish. And they were loving, faithful, loyal servants of God. If God is love, how could God punish such beautiful beings by damning them to a fiery eternity?

I was also taught that those who do accept Christ will go to heaven, where we get to chase butterflies, eat everlasting lollipops, cartwheel down roads of gold, dance with angels, and hang out with all the other faithful souls we have lost in life. If only we are GOOD, we will be rewarded. The God I was raised to know plays favorites. If you follow all the commandments, give 10% of your income to the church, and do good deeds, blessings will come to you.

But this never seemed to be true. Over and over, I watched bad things happen to good people. So if God rewards the faithful, why do the faithful get cancer, have their babies snatched away from them, or get raped and beaten up by their husbands?

What If God Is Neutral?

So what if what Dana said is true? What if God neither rewards nor punishes? What if there is Divine Purpose and events that happen are simply in service to that? What if God represents the highest possible vibration, the purest essence of love, the capacity within us all to live in line with the Divine? What if bad things simply happen because they are part of a complex puzzle that makes up the highest good for the most people at that particular moment in time?

This is where it starts to get fuzzy for me. But I’ll take a shot at it. If God is neutral to individual events and we can’t earn our way to blessings, heaven, and reward, why are we here and what is our moral compass? If God doesn’t punish us for mistakes we make when we are out of integrity and not serving the highest good, who will hold us accountable? Maybe that’s why we’re here, to figure it our for ourselves and help each other along the way. What if we’re meant to hold each other in check. To hold up the mirror to see more clearly what holds us apart from God and needs to heal. To celebrate the joys and relish in gratitude.  What if God has given us the responsibility and capability to align ourselves with Divine Purpose when we’re ready? What if God simply guides the Divine Purpose without judging us one way or another? When I think of it, I smile. Now THAT is the kind of God I want to teach my daughter about.

I believe we are here to serve our Divine purpose, that each of us has a mission in life, that each of us serves a calling. We are all vessels for this Divine, loving Creator, and the more we clear ourselves of our crap, the more the channel is open and God can radiate through us. But that’s just me…

What Do YOU Believe?

What about you, Pinkies? What Divine Being do you know? How do you connect with the Source? Does your religion raise questions you can’t answer? Is it okay to simply have faith without having organized religion at all? Could Owning Pink become our spiritual home, a gathering place for those in service to a Divine Being that nurtures us as we serve the greater good? Can I teach Siena to “Do God” by simply letting the Divine flow through her as she serves her life’s purpose with love? Can we talk about this with open minds and open hearts, reserving judgment and making room for all of us to explore our beliefs in a safe, sacred space?

What do you think, Pinkies?

Worshipping love,
Lissa

Brother Michael Mackintosh

Dear Pinkies, please welcome the newest Pink God to join the Posse, Brother Michael Mackintosh. Michael is here to introduce himself and tell us about some of what he has to offer Pinkdom. Enjoy his profound wisdom and thought-provoking words … as you’ll see, Brother Michael is a Pinkie through and through, and will be an extraordinary asset to our group as we deepen our work and fine-tune our magic. Welcome, Brother Michael, and thank you for bringing your shining Pink light into our community!

****

Aloha wonderful Pinkies!

Much love and many blessings from the Garden Island of Kauai, Hawaii.

My name is Michael Mackintosh, also lovingly known by many as Brother Michael. I’ve been invited to share my thoughts and experiences with all of you wonderful beings here on the posse to help provide guidance to live YOUR most beautiful, happy and fulfilling life.

My Journey Into the Pink Posse

Since profound spiritual experiences at age 18, while in England, my life has been dedicated to empowering people to tap into their own highest potential, seeing life in new ways and dissolving whatever is no longer serving their highest good. After traveling extensively, I have spent the last 2.5 glorious years here on Kauai, running retreats, courses, seminars, and webinars to help thousands of people worldwide. Whilst enjoying life, destiny brought me to the posse in the form of Tricia Barrett, who appeared by ‘chance’ to participate in one of our exclusive ‘Gentle Warrior’ retreats.

My now very dear friend, Tricia Barrett, originally came to Hawaii for panchakarma (Ayurvedic cleansing) – however destiny had it for her to take the plunge into new levels of being and experience our 14 day Gentle Warrior Retreat with Nick Good and myself.

I am amazed at the powerful transformation she went through during those magical Hawaiian summer days and Tricia and I have been in contact ever since. Recently, she encouraged me to check out the Pink Posse and see if I could contribute. I am now honored to be part of the Mojo Mentors as your Pink Soul Adviser, offering you loving guidance on how to live in alignment with your soul purpose and to be fully connected to your soul power, self love, and have the Best Day– every day.

I’d like to share so much love to Lissa for welcoming me so warmly and gracefully and doing all of the wonderful work she is doing. Go sister! And much love to all of you for being here, sharing your hearts and making this community what it is – thank you.

Embracing Pink God-ness

As an aside, I’d just like to mention briefly- because it’s amusing, that I actually DO love the color pink. Many men feel that pink is a ‘girly’ color and it should be left to the women to own; ‘Pink is for girls, blue is for boys’. I, however, do fully OWN PINK and so it was wonderful to come across this pink posse. More pink all around.

If anything, I feel my role is to help people dissolve any old, harmful, redundant conditioning about life – so they can relax, let go, and live their highest destiny. So for all the guys out there, if you’re feeling it – go and get yourself a pink shirt – you’ll feel great! You deserve it!

The potential of human life

Having traveled extensively, especially spending significant time in India with some of the world’s greatest spiritual masters, it has become very clear to me that each and every one of us is beautiful, wonderful and magical – no matter what they may think or feel about themselves right now.

One day, something magical happens to all of us. Sooner or later, we all wake up to realize that we are eternal beings of pure consciousness having a human experience.

From this awareness, life is just a wonderful game. It is here to be enjoyed and deeply cherished.

When this happens…everything changes. The anxiety that is present in nearly everyone’s solar plexus (feel yours now) – is gone and there is an inner happiness and presence of peace that penetrates the mind, body and soul, and flows into the world around us, absorbing all life into this peace.

In this state, we become fully aware that ‘I am safe, I am secure, and I am complete’. Life is truly supportive and all is well exactly as it is right now. We can see the perfection in every detail.

One of the most profound shifts I have ever seen or experienced is the knowing and feeling that “I am safe, valuable and ‘good’. I am worthy, I am valuable, I am lovable.”

We are all made of love already. We don’t need to DO anything. Truly, love is omnipresent – it is our original essence. Feeling the love we are is one of the foundations of human life and we all need to come back to that – no matter what.

You have probably heard this simple statement before:

“I am consciousness,” “I am a spiritual being” – however it seems many people do not experience the feelings that come with this statement – it often becomes a dry theoretical understanding devoid of the meaning and juiciness it contains.

After consulting and listening to thousands of the people over the years I often hear or observe the complaint “I am not good enough, I am unworthy – I don’t know what I’m supposed to do with my life … I don’t FEEL the love that I know is there somewhere, how do I tap into it? – I feel empty and depressed,” etc.

We may ask, if love and happiness are our natural inner state, why are there not more happy people around? Why is the whole world not paradise right now?

Why?

Because of years and years and years and years of negative programming has covered over the original and eternal wellspring of love and inner joy.

There is a very heavy weight sitting on top of our treasure chest of joy. Remove the weight and you will explode with light and bliss! You will experience a happiness that penetrates the bones and gushes out into the far corners of the universe.

I had a profound, extremely vivid, powerful vision of this state one time when I was in India – a state of so much love and happiness it was hard to even stand up…When you have seen the potential of human life… nothing is ever the same again. I’ll share more on that another time if you’d like ; )

I hope this has given some idea of who I am and where I am coming from. I’m here in service to each of you. Will share more soon.

What does your soul need to feel loved? How can you tap into the inner essence? What do you need, Pinkies? Let us all be here for each other.

Much love from Hawaii,

Your brother Michael
