Do you tell yourself you haven’t worked hard enough to get what you want?
Do you worry you aren’t smart, talented, young, or pretty enough to reach your dreams?
Do you think you should learn to be grateful for what you have, even though you sense that something vital is missing from your life?
Are You Frustrated Because You Want to Make a Change in Your Life, Let Your Freak Flag Fly, and Follow Your Dream, But You Keep Getting in Your Own Way?
Let me share with you the secrets of what it's taken me 6 years to learn the hard way so you can leap into your dreams right here, right now, my love.
I know you have a dream for your life. Yeah, that one. The one you may be too embarrassed to tell even your spouse or your best friend because you’re afraid you might fail or look stupid. The one that makes your heart flutter and takes your breath away when you even let yourself imagine that it could ever come true. Or maybe you want to have a big dream- and you know it’s within you somewhere - but you’re having trouble getting clear on what your dream actually looks like. But everyone has a dream when we’re really honest with ourselves.
I know you want your dream to come true, but a boatload of complicated obstacles seem to be in your way.
Besides, how do you know if achieving your big dream will even make you happy? What if your big dream is one of those “Be careful what you wish for” situations? Or maybe you’re afraid you’re being selfish or impractical for desiring what you want, like you should just feel grateful for what you have.
If any of this sounds like you, read on, because in this Get Out of Your Own Way manifesto, you will see exactly how and why I think I can help you get clear on the life you wish to create, stop waffling, overcome the fears that threaten to hold you back, make the decision you’ve been avoiding, feel confident you’ve made the right choices, know that you deserve all the good things that will come your way, find peace with caring about what “everybody” thinks, and leap forward with faith instead of fear.
I had a dream once too. It was a big dream – so big that it actually seemed too grand and improbable to believe that it could ever come true. In the process of following that dream, I learned everything the hard way, and in making many mistakes, I learned a lot of valuable lessons, things I wish I had known 6 years ago when this dream first began to take form.
Only a Small Percentage of People Actually Get Out of Their Own Way. Want to know why?
Over and over again, I hear people talk about wanting to make big (or even small) changes in their lives, but really only a small percentage of them actually get out of their own way and make those changes. I’ve noticed there are consistent patterns with people who make changes and start living their dream lives, but in all this time, I’ve never compiled all the lessons I’ve learned to help people take a leap of faith into one step-by-step program.
I know I’m not alone in having learned these lessons. Some of the most mojo-full, happiest, fulfilled people on earth have learned these lessons too, and in this program, I’m honored to have picked their brains, gleaned some of their wisdom, befriended many of them, and brainstormed together to figure out how we can save those we care about from the fear, anxiety, worry, and waffling many of us experience in the process of leaping for the stars.
In fact, it was in talking to many of those people – like Crazy Sexy Kris Carr, Firestarter Danielle LaPorte, bestselling author Dr. Christiane Northrup, S Factor founder Sheila Kelley, Nonconformist Chris Guillebeau, and Mama Gena’s School of Womanly Arts founder Regena Thomashauer – that I realized I could help a lot of people if I was able to create a program that boiled together my years of knowledge and experience taking leaps of faith in my own life with helping others do the same. That’s why, I am announcing, (cue the trumpets!), my first ever e-course! TA DA!!!
I’m jumping-with-joy, giggling-with-glee excited to introduce to you a step-by-step program I’ve developed.
It’s calledGet Out of Your Own Way: Free Yourself From Fear and Worry and Leap Into Your Dreams, and I designed this program just for you. If you’re still reading (raise your hand if you’re still reading…Bueller…Bueller…), then I know you’re serious about quickly going to a whole new level in your authenticity, personal happiness, career, relationships, and sphere of influence, and I really want to help you get there as painlessly as possible.
This e-course is my labor of love, in which I share with you all those hard-learned lessons I gathered along my path to my personal truth. Because more than anything, I want to spare you the unnecessary angst I experienced on my way to making my dreams come true so you can leap forward and start realizing your dreams - NOW! Because I tell you, honey. It’s the best feeling in the whole wide world to live true to your authentic self, send your inner critic to time out, get out of the box, dream big, and let your freak flag fly. When you find your groove and the Universe gets behind you, watch out world!
You can be 100% sure this course will help you if you read this next part and your authentic self- that little pilot light within you- screams
“Yes! That’s me! That’s me!”
I can see you now.
You’re thinking about taking a leap of faith.
You’re standing on the edge, looking into the abyss.
You’re thinking about jumping, but the cliff is neck-breakingly high, the rocks below are sharp, and there’s no safety net anywhere in sight.
You step closer to the edge and watch a few stray pebbles tumble down and smash into a million pieces far below.
Your heart pounds.
Your brain spins.
Your gut sinks.
And you step three big paces back from the edge with your eyes lowered.
You were so close. You almost jumped. You really wanted to, but something held you back. Now you’re kicking yourself. Your inner critic berates you as you tuck your hesitant wings under you and feel your feet become leaden. Looking over the edge once more, you shake your head. You do an about-face. And you walk away. AGAIN.
Want to know the BIGGEST DIFFERENCE between people who live a satisfying, authentic life and everyone else?
The difference is simple. Those who live satisfying, fulfilled, meaningful, abundant, and authentic lives know exactly how to get out of their own way and take leaps of faith while feeling grounded, connected, and confident, As my friend Nancy Bellen says, “They leap with the faith that they will always land butter side up.”
Unlike everybody who gets in their own way, they focus on getting clear about who they are and what they want, and they create space in their lives to invite those dreams to manifest, even when it’s scary. They know everybody will think they’re crazy, and they decide not to worry about what everybody will think. It’s not that they don’t feel the fear and anxiety. It’s that they feel these emotions - and leap anyway.
Everyone who makes big, possibility-laden changes in their life has gone through this cycle, but they are able to get out of their own way and go for it. Why? Because they’ve figured out the secret sauce that makes life’s cheeseburger (or veggie burger) ROCK. If you’re really ready to stop worrying, get out of your own way, trust the Universe, and take a leap of faith (or as we at Owning Pink call it- a “Pink Leap of Faith or a “Pleap”), this course will absolutely help you do it by teaching you that secret in a way that is more than book knowledge – you’ll feel it in your very bones.
What type of leap will this program help you move toward?
You are miserable in your soul-sucking job but feel completely irresponsible about leaving “in this economy” and with all your “responsibility”. What would you do if you left? Would you succeed at trying something new? Is it worth it? Those are the questions running through your mind, while every day you become more unhappy, more cynical, and more pissed off at yourself for being afraid.
You are considering leaving your partner and even thinking about it brings up massive waves of confusion, guilt, and fear. You don’t know what the right decision is for you. Maybe a part of you knows what you want, but it’s just so hard considering the huge change, sacrifices, loss, and pain that may be required.
You are up against major health challenges that require a scary change. With so many options out there, how do you know what is best for you, for your battle? Is it time to change doctors or seek out alternative philosophies for your treatment? Is this the year you will finally stop abusing alcohol? Will you finally quit smoking? Is it time to make the financial, physical and emotional investment in IVF so you can finally become a parent? You have trouble trusting yourself when it comes to such a major decision...
You want to start the business or career you’ve been dreaming about, but you (and others around you) are stopping you with doubt. “It’s crazy to become a writer/ an artist/ a non-profit leader/ a healer/ a coach... It’s risky. It’s foolish.” How do you make the decision to start down that path of following your heart with such resistance?
You’re dying to find your soulmate but you’re afraid to put yourself out there. You know others have met their dream partners on Match.com (I did!) or via speed dating or on blind dates your friends set up. But you’re so afraid of rejection that you can’t even get started. And you’re kicking yourself because you know you’ll have to actually leave your apartment if you’re ever going to find Mr. or Mrs. Right.
You Don’t Have to Be Afraid To Want What Your Heart Desires If You Know This One Thing
In my book there are two kinds of “wanting” – good wanting, and bad wanting. You feel good wanting when you envision the life of your dreams, flick away obstacles like mosquitoes in Florida on a sticky, August day, and JUST GO FOR IT. Good wanting helps you get clear on your desires so you can start to manifest what you want to attract into your life. Good wanting changes everything.
But bad wanting feels more like jealousy. Bad wanting feels like wanting something you don’t believe you’ll ever be able to have. Bad wanting makes you want to punch something- or someone. Bad wanting leads you to say and feel things you’re ashamed of later. Bad wanting may make you catty.
The only real difference between good wanting and bad wanting is perception - and confidence. When you believe you can have something, you can. When you believe it’s impossible, it will be. And then you’ll resent all those people who believed anything was possible and are getting everything their heart desires.
Beware: Wanting something can easily trigger the voice of fear - that icky inner critic which starts yelling, threatening to drown out your desires with ugly ranting. That panicky, freaked-out fear comes straight from your brainstem, the reptilian part of your brain that I affectionately call "The Gremlin." According to The Gremlin, you’ll never really get what you want and if you do, beware - because something or someone is about to yank it all away from you. It’s very important when you are trying to make a big change to know how to dissociate yourself from your Gremlin. The first step is to recognize when The Gremlin comes out.
You’ll know if your Gremlin is talking because you’ll starting thinking something like: “This program might work for others but it will never apply to my situation” or “This program probably only works if you have everything lined up perfectly.”
Recognizing your Gremlin is the first step. Next, you have to send your Gremlin to time out by recognizing that your Gremlin is there, patting him on the head, and telling him to shush. Here’s a great opportunity to practice. Send your Gremlin to time out by putting any skepticism you feel right now on hold and reading through the rest of this letter, knowing this program CAN help you get the life you want – even if you are scared it will be too hard or worried the timing isn’t right.
I Know All About Anxiety, Worry, Fear, Indecision & Taking a Leap of Faith
Change is scary. Terrifying, really. Paralyzing, actually. Even though change is usually the only way out of a soul-sucking situation, we avoid it like a rattlesnake. I know from personal experience how much easier it is to stay miserably straddled on the fence. Been there. Done that. For eight years after I had already promised myself I would not stay stuck in an unhappy life, I remained indecisive. Even though I dreaded going to work, where I was a full time partner in a busy OB/GYN practice, I kept right on slogging through, day after day after day, in spite of the sinking feeling in my gut.
Why would I put myself through something like that? Because I couldn’t even begin to imagine what I would do if I quit. After all, I had spent 12 years and hundreds of thousands of dollars on an education that taught me nothing more than how to practice medicine. Plus, I was the sole bread-winner for my family. I had two mortgages to pay, I had no other professional training, and I knew that if I chose to leave medicine, I’d have to pony up $120,000 I didn’t have in order to buy my freedom (long story- don’t get me started).
Then one day, the pain of staying put exceeded the fear of the unknown- and BAM. The deed was done. I quit my job, sold my house, moved my family to the country, liquidated my retirement account to buy my freedom, and ventured into uncharted territory.
After twelve years of medical education and eleven years of practice, I let it all go- the prestige, the six-figure income, the job security, the white coat. Why? It’s a long story and the subject of my next book, but in short, it’s just not who I am. My authentic self has been trying to shake off the white coat since long before I earned it, but I wasn’t listening to my authentic self back then.
Being True To the Authentic ME
Now I am. And this white coat just ain’t doing it for me anymore. It’s not that I don’t still feel called to being a healer. I do. It’s just that trying to squeeze my ever-expanding self into the eensy weensy broken box of our current health care system just isn’t allowing me to offer my healing gifts the way I feel called to do so.
So I’m shedding the white coat skin I’ve spent so long earning to free myself from the chains that have held me back so I can launch my Change Catalyst coaching practice, write books, pursue my art, manifest my dream of becoming a motivational speaker, focus on growing the reach and breadth of Owning Pink, let my freak flag fly, and maybe one day land my own TV talk show (move over Dr. Oz. It’s time for a pair of ovaries!)
Am I Nuts?
As you can imagine, many people think I’ve lost my mind. Why would I let go of something I worked so hard to achieve, especially when my profession not only paid me handsomely but also, in survey after survey, is considered the most widely respected profession in existence?
Good question. It’s not that I’m not skilled at what I do. Sure. I’m a kick ass doctor. I can wield a scalpel like nobody’s business. I’ve got a bedside manner many admire. I can operate and prescribe and interpret and diagnose like I was born doing it. And when it comes to catching babies, I’m a natural. Year after year, I was awarded Top Doctor titles, and my patients showered me with presents and compliments.
But it just wasn’t me.
As my friend Danielle LaPorte teaches, You gotta be careful what you’re good at, because you might spend a lifetime doing it, even if it’s not where your heart lies.
I felt called to medical school at an early age because I wanted to hold space for people, to hold their hands, to wipe their tears, to listen, to care. For years, I’ve been saying “I practice LOVE with a little bit of medicine on the side.” I thought I had to practice medicine in order to be granted the opportunity to practice LOVE. But I’ve since realized that this was a limiting belief, and I just had to change the way I think.
Redefining Health & Healing
With my new way of thinking, I realize that I can improve people’s health, offer love, help people better their lives, and foster healing as a coach, an author, a public speaker, a workshop leader, an artist, via Owning Pink, and in all the other ways I choose to live my life. I don’t have to lure people in with a Pap smear in order to practice my gifts. I can leap- unharnessed- into the life that makes my heart sing while letting go of prescriptions, procedures, and lab tests. I can break the rules. I can change my mind. I can be a non-conformist. I can be ALL ME, ALL THE TIME and let the chips fall where they may.
For the past five years, I’ve been leaping like my life depended on it. I’ve taken one scary leap after another- only to discover that I’ve finally landed in the lavender-scented river, where the more I lie back and go with the flow, rather than fight the current and try to swim upstream, the more easily the Universe can twist and turn me to where I’m meant to go.
But It’s Not Always Roses & Violets
The process has been terrifying and painful and disappointing and risky.
I wish I had known six years ago the lessons I’ve learned along the way. If only I could leap back in time to mentor my younger self, I could have saved her so much turmoil, alleviated so much angst, offered her reassurance, provided her with guidance, and held her hand while she took her leaps so she didn’t feel so alone.
I haven’t figured out how to time travel yet, so I can’t do that for my younger self, but… I can do it for you.
The Truth Is You Could Be A Lot Closer To Taking Your Leap of Faith Than You Realize
Without even being conscious of what I was doing, I realize that I’ve spent the past twelve years helping people discover the truth about themselves- so they can love the truth. At first, I thought I was just practicing medicine- delivering babies, performing surgeries, doing Pap smears. But I now realize that my authentic self has been practicing my passion for as long as I was practicing medicine. It took me ten years to recognize what I was doing, and now that I understand what drives me and have altered my practice in the past two years to more closely fit my authentic self, I’m finally thriving. It took me a decade to see how close I was to taking the leap. You can do it faster. You can have it now. But having a hand to guide you and a mentor to remind you that you already have all that you need to have all that you want can sure help.
Figuring out and celebrating who you really are- deep down at your core- means overcoming self-judgment, fighting the inner critic, and overcoming debilitating fears and self-doubt. Doing so changes everything. Time and time again, I’ve seen how it makes all the difference in the world when you challenge someone to think outside the box, take a stand, question the status quo, resist the pressures to conform, seek freedom, ask for guidance from the Universe, surrender, learn to receive, and look past the masks we all wear to witness the hearts and souls that lie beneath.
Here’s what some people I’ve worked with have said.
These people were just one small step away from taking a Leap of Faith. Are YOU?
I have been looking for years for a place that my thoughts and soul would fit into. Since as far back as I can remember, I have been different in thinking and in heart from those around me. I always knew I was destined to do something different but never quite brave enough to try. I am 26 years old and the mother to twin 5 year old boys and a 3 year old girl. I am rounding the last semester of my associate’s degree in nursing and realizing that the hospital is not the place where I will be able to truly help people. Though I have had the thought of continuing my degree in the area of natural healing and alternative medicines, I honestly believed that I should just suck it up and do as everyone else (attending jobs that no one really wants to go to). After learning from you, I have concluded that I will pursue my dreams.. Also, I hope to encourage my children to be themselves and to go after what they feel is right, not so much what they or others think is right.
Thank You, Sherry
Since my first day working as a lawyer, I have wanted to do something else. While I loved the intellectual challenge of law school, law firm life was not for me. I felt stifled. But I also felt trapped financially. It wasn’t until 20 years and 4 employers later, that I discovered Lissa Rankin. I followed Lissa’s journey with awe, amazement and envy. But still, I could only imagine leaving the corporate rate race.
Slowly, her story grabbed me and propelled me to dream. Following Lissa as inspiration, I dared to dream of being a full-time artist. With her guidance, I began to walk through the fear of scarcity. Then, just as my dream was beginning to take off, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. I was back to square one. I questioned everything. I told myself I could no longer be an artist - artists didn’t have health insurance or disability insurance. And I needed both. My dream came to a screeching halt. But the Universe and Lissa weren’t finished with me yet.
Lissa showed up in my inbox everyday, sharing her wisdom; exuding the joy that one can only have if they are living their dream. I felt each post was written for me. So I redoubled my efforts on my dream. But the dream was different this time. I had taken control of my health, employed lots of radical self-care and wanted to share my knowledge and compassion to make the world a healthier place. Enter Laurie Erdman, artist and holistic health coach.
I jumped in with gusto. Planning. Visioning. Setting myself up for the leap. But there was one thing missing from my plan. But I couldn’t put my finger on it. Not until working with Lissa did I discover that I was working hard to stay in my own way. Yes, fear was masquerading as rationale planning. I was overworking myself trying to serve my employer and my dream. But I couldn’t see that. At least not until seeking Lissa’s counsel on Getting Out of My Own Way.
With the questions in this Get Out of Your Own Way eCourse, Lissa’s counsel, and intuitive questioning, she helped me realize how I was standing in my own way. Her questions stuck in my head for weeks. Describe your ideal day. What is your worst case scenario if you were to follow your dream with all of you? What happens if you don’t meet your goal in 6 months? Why would that be? What would you do? Are you willing to jump even if you haven’t met that goal? And many others. These questions penetrated through my reptilian brain until I could no longer stand it. Because of Lissa, I am now happily focusing my energy on building the life I want: making pots and building my wellness empire by helping people overcome their illnesses through integrative lifestyle changes.
I bought your beta package of Get Out of Your Own Way recently. Talk about huge leaps forward in a short time. I have had many moments of clarity, for which I hardily thank you. The first one was a guided meditation in the 10-day email "teaser." I realized, while I have made many inroads in self-love (in fact crossed all the 5 gates) I still expect entirely too much of myself, more than from anyone else in my life. I can't tell you why...it could be old garbage I grew up with. The final result is not feeling worthy of you name it, including nurturing my own self-worth with love, kindness, patience.
Today, in my more open state, I have decided to write a book. Until today, I didn't wake up and say "I am going to write a book" but I did today. I am an artist, it will be about art, but not a how-to paint book, there are many of those. I have other ideas. I wrote a blog about what you are teaching in there somewhere and it was well received. My gigantic webhost who caters to artists, featured it on their home page and then did the unheard of by posting it through their FB fan page. It is a small hint on the subject of my book.
I would not be here tonight in this way, save for knowing you. THANK YOU!!!! I just turned 50 on February 20, 2011 and it was my most exciting birthday because I felt like the world was opening up to me in a way it never had before.
- Lynne Hurd Bryant
Have you ever been lost? Only you didn't know you were lost? And then something happens, you don't know how, but a path has been cleared. That’s what Lissa Rankin did for me. When I met her, I was at a point in my life where I was ready for a change- I just didn't know what that change looked like. My Leap of Faith into that change wasn’t starting a new job or moving to a new city. I just sort of realized that I didn’t have to keep things in my life that didn't serve me. This included toxic friends and toxic men. I found a place of acceptance, a place without judgments. I have found a new spirituality that I thought was long gone inside of me. I see people with loving eyes, even those that are difficult to love. My life has had a complete overhaul. After living my life one way for more than 40 years, this has been a very emotional roller coaster, but I do know this. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.
Today I registered a domain name for an idea I have been harboring for a while (leaping off of the fence after breakfast). I think just the act of committing to the question mark of what you have to offer...has caused some energy shift in me. Seriously...before my first session...I found myself doing things I have been meaning to do for a while (like cleaning up a pile of papers that I have been avoiding, finishing books that I have intended to read, ideas flowing, and finally initiating the process of declaring my French Citizenship (something I have thought about for at least 10-15 years...and have talked about for the last 5 years...and seriously talking about in the last year...wonder what the fear is there).
When I see how Lissa was able to overcome her traumas and struggles and practice the type of medicine that she always wanted to, the type of medicine that is, as she describes, mostly love with a little bit of medicine on the side, it gives me hope and it drives me forward. I aspire to be like her and knowing where I want my destination to be I think will be a powerful source of comfort, hope, and motivation. I am so grateful to have someone to model myself after (while, of course being true to ME). And I think that is what gives me the most hope...that I am always welcomed to shine as brightly as I can, let my freak flag fly, and receiving love and acceptance.
I promise your situation is not unique. And more importantly – your situation is NOT hopeless.
The big problem is that people like you and I who feel like we are meant to do more and be more with our lives are often held back or become conflicted because we are fed 3 myths by our families and by society in general.
Here are the three biggest myths that make it hard for most people to make the changes necessary to create the life they want to live:
Myth #1 Taking a leap of faith is hard. You may fear that you will lose your financial security or sacrifice your social status. You fear that taking a leap of faith into living a more authentic life will negatively change who you are in the world.
Myth #2 People you love, respect, and need, will think you’re selfish, crazy, and stupid.
Myth #3 In the quest for “more,” you will end up wasting your life. You will squander your life searching and end up leaving no mark, being a nobody, wandering aimlessly with no true path.
Some people are so attached to these myths that when they think about pursuing their heart’s desires, they wake up in the middle of the night with their hearts pounding and their minds racing as they worry about losing everything and ending up being homeless, penniless, purposeless, and alone.
Albert Einstein said,“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.” If your mother chews your head off every time you go to her house for dinner- and you keep going to her house for dinner, you have to admit you’re acting a bit insane. If you keep yelling at your kid when he gets a bad grade, and your kid keeps getting bad grades, wouldn’t you agree that you might need to rethink your parenting strategy? If you keep trying to get your husband to join you for tango lessons- and your husband responds by getting wasted every time, don’t you think it’s time to find a new tango partner? If your boss keeps taking credit for your brilliant ideas every time you dream them up- but you keep delivering your boss brilliant ideas, you’d be crazy to think anything is ever going to change.
Wouldn’t you agree that it’s crazy to think you’ll get different results when you’re doing the same thing over and over again?
That’s why you need to try something different this time…
In the wake of leaving my job as a doctor- for good, this time- I’ve just finished creating my first complete program for people who are compelled to do what the Universe is calling them to do, who long to create a legacy of meaningful work that changes the world, who are dying to live more authentically in relationships, and who want to make their lives feel powerful, magical, and purposeful. It’s called Get Out of Your Own Wayand it gives you a step-by-step formula so you canFree Yourself From Fear and Worry and Leap Into Your Dreams.
You know me, and you know I don’t do things the way everybody else does. These days, everybody and his mother is selling some e-course on the internet, and I’ve resisted doing it until now- because I didn’t want to do it until I knew I could knock your socks off. But I’m ready now, and after finally making the decision to leave medicine, I realized that I’m so passionate about this subject that I can barely contain myself. My calling is to help free people from the fears that tether them and keep them from launching into the stratosphere.
So I put my heart and soul into creating this e-course, and my intention was to create something entirely different than all the other self-help programs aimed at helping you create change. This program boils down the essence of what I offer to my Change Catalyst coaching clients into a step-by-step process that can be applied to any number of changes you may consider making. I created this program so that you can use it again and again and again. It's like at least a dozen live coaching sessions, all rolled into one.
Strengthening your leap of faith muscle tends to make you brave- and once you find your inner reservoir of courage, you discover that you can’t help leaping- and leaping- and leaping. And BAM. All of a sudden, you’re living the life of your dreams.
This program has taken me five long, hard years to research, develop, and implement but it’s finally something I feel ready to share. Even sharing it with you is a leap of faith for me, because I’ve never created a product like this before. But I am taking that leap because I know in my heart it’s the right thing to do- for you and for me. I’m confident that this product can help you reach heights beyond your wildest dreams, and helping others soar is a big part of my life’s mission.

A Note About How Money Is Just Energy and We All Want It to Flow
Naturally, you’re probably wondering how much this whole shebang is going to cost. So yes. Let’s talk about money for a moment. Bear with me, because talking about money is the hard part for me (as I suspect it is for many of you). For almost two years, I’ve been giving of myself and paying staff to assist me because I’m so passionate about helping you ROCK this life with so much mojo you spill over and shine your brilliant light on everyone around you. During this time, I’ve never asked anyone to pay for any of the gifts I’ve given- the free teleseminars, Get Out of Your Own Way mini e-course, Mojo Mommies gatherings, Owning Pink Posse community forum, Pink Posse meetings, newsletters, blog posts, personal email responses, etc.
But recently, I had an enlightened thought and realized that I’m not doing you any favors by giving everything away without offering you the opportunity to invest. You see, money is just energy. When you let it flow out of you, it flows right back into you. And I’ve been hemorrhaging energy to support my passion, without inviting you to transfuse your energy back.
By not charging for anything, I’ve also attracted a bunch of well-meaning lurkers- fence-dwellers, if you will. Making the investment of financial resources into yourself is actually part of what will motivate you to get out of your own way and leap into the life of your dreams.
Let me tell you a little story from my own life that highlights the energetic power of making a financial investment
I dreamed of making a go of it as a professional writer, but after spending a year writing a book that never got published, I was ready to throw in the towel. Maybe the Universe just didn’t want me to be a professional writer. Maybe it was just supposed to be a hobby. But my big dream didn’t go away, even after twenty-something rejection letters, first from literary agents and then from New York publishing houses.
I had already read every book I could get my hands on. I had scoured the internet, picked my friends’ brains, and expended lots of energy trying to get free advice. But I was still no closer to becoming a professional writer. Then I heard about a series of programs that I believed would help me improve my writing, meet other writers, learn more about publishing, figure out how to write a blog and build a platform, and get clear on how to manifest my dreams.
But the price tag was big. And not only had I quit my lucrative doctor job; I had also spent nearly all of my savings after liquidating my entire retirement fund. Investing in something as frivolous as my dream of becoming a professional writer felt almost laughable to me. The Gremlin inside of me snickered and told me to get over myself- that I didn’t even deserve to have such a silly dream, much less to spend big money on making my dream come true.
I almost listened to that Gremlin. Then I got pissed. Really pissed. And I decided to not only send The Gremlin to time out, but to pull out my checkbook and show that Gremlin who’s boss.
It was a huge step for me, but it shifted something within me. It was my way of saying to myself (and The Gremlin), “You’re worth it. You deserve for your big dream to come true.”
And it did. But not until after I took the leap of faith to invest in making my writing dreams come true.
Once I put all that money into manifesting my dream, I was fully invested.
100% all the way in. No more lurking. No more fence-sitting. It was action time. Spending all that money motivated me like nobody’s business.
Since then, I’ve had two books published, I was offered my own magazine column, I get paid to write blog posts for other people’s websites, and I earned six figures as a result of my work as a writer this year. And I just secured a book deal for my third book.
The same kind of transformation could happen to you.
I want thisGet Out of Your Own Waye-course to attract those who are REALLY ready, fully committed, and 100% in. If you are sick and tired of getting in your own way when you know there’s more out there, I want this e-course to be the biggest dang present you’ve ever given yourself because baby, you’re worth it.
Yeah, Yeah, But Give Us The Skinny! How Much Moolah Are We Going To Have To Pony Up, Lissa?
So here’s the dramatic reveal – but before you read the cost, I want you to remember, the money you invest in this program is going to flow right back towards you as you take your leap! The total investment required to take theGet Out of Your Own Way: Free Yourself From Fear and Worry and Leap Into Your Dreamse-course is $249.
I'm also so certain you won’t regret your decision that I’m offering a full money-back guarantee. If you’re not 100% satisfied with this program within 30 days of reviewing all the material, I’ll refund your money- no questions asked- and you can keep the e-course. When you’re finally ready to get out of your own way and invest in yourself, I would never want you to be disappointed or experience any buyer's remorse.
Are You Still Thinking About It?
Does that still seem pricey to you? Did you just breathe a sigh of disappointment because you just don't think you can swing this, as much as you want things to change and you know I'm the one to help you do it? I hear you, honey. But remember, that's the voice of fear - fear that there's not enough, that you're not worth it, that it won't help, and you'll still be stuck where you are now.
Remember, money is just flow of energy. When I created this program, I flowed so much energy into it that it would deplete me if the energy didn't just flow right back and transfuse me. And it will. Because I'm worth it.
And so are you.
I hope you value yourself enough to give yourself this gift. Ask the Universe to make it happen if that's what you feel is right for you. Put it out there. Be willing to receive when the Universe aligns to help you swing it.
Remember that it's easy to tell ourselves we just can't afford something we desire, but really, it's all about priorities. Might you give up that Starbucks coffee for a few months? Or cut out that wine you drink at dinnertime? Can you give up getting your nails done or a few dinners out?
Or, more importantly - can you give yourself permission to invest in YOU?
Many of us - especially us women - have a hard time prioritizing doing something for ourselves. Spending money on other people - our kids, our hubbys, our mothers - no problemo. But ourselves. We suck at it.
What’s holding you back from investing in yourself? Do you know? Is it your Gremlin? Look over the edge once more. What’s waiting for you? What’s stopping you? Don’t forget, you’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain here. This is your life. Aren’t you ready to live it? As Mary Oliver said, “What do you plan to do with this one wild and precious life?”
Do you really need more convincing? Okay, here goes nothing (CANNONBALL!)
