What is Owning Pink?

Owning Pink Center heart

Owning Pink is all about owning the facets of what makes you whole in order to live the most vital life imaginable. Owning your physical health is the foundation upon which you build, but owning your creativity, your spirituality, your relationships, your career, your sexuality, and how you interact with the planet all boost your mojo and allow you to rediscover the authentic core of who you are and what really matters. Owning Pink means that you’re owning whatever’s missing from your life, accepting and loving yourself right where you are, taking the next steps towards mojo (MOre JOy), and living the life you know you’re meant to live.

Owning Pink began as an art series back in 2005. Lissa was at her 35th birthday party, and her friend Carmen was 7 months pregnant with a little girl, when Carmen's husband said, “My little girl is never gonna wear pink. Red, green, blue- she’s gonna be a feminist. She could be President one day.” Lissa, who was dressed head to toe in pink, put her hands on her hips and said, “You tell your daughter she just has to OWN pink. Lissa spent the next two years painting an art series of pink, girly art meant to empower women to own their pink.

This art series gathered attention and spun off into a blog about integrating all of the seemingly fragmented pieces that make up who we are. After years of wearing masks and pretending to be something she wasn’t, Lissa committed to being ALL LISSA, ALL THE TIME, and decided to blog about her journey back to authenticity. OwningPink.com quickly grew into a community of like-minded individuals trying to reclaim- and keep-their mojo and help others do the same.

The Owning Pink Center evolved from there, as part of Lissa’s quest to integrate her medical expertise, her artistic passions, her writing, and all that she had created at OwningPink.com. The Owning Pink Center attracted other practitioners who share Lissa’s philosophy about whole health and wish to encourage others to live with optimal vitality.
