Melanie is a writer, a nomad, a nondescript heathen, a lover of education, and a life-long student. Sometimes she is a Virtual Assistant to Powerful Women (and a Few Kick-Ass Men). Aside from assisting Lissa in the day to day of Owning Pink business, she's just taken on the role of Editor-in-Pink for Owning Pink.  She is also the creator & co-author of the website Femme Tales - Truth with Humor; a cozy little place where she resides with her best friend Monica Wilcox and which houses their creative non-fiction.

Melanie's most joyous moments in life come from "applying ass to chair." She began her writing career at the age of seven when she penned her first story. As a teenager her writing moved toward the morose when she attempted to pen her vast memoir at the age of fourteen. Finally, at seventeen, with her towering experience in regards to the matters of love, she wrote a few pages of a romance novel. She is currently working on a young adult fantasy novel which she plans to finish this century-ish.

Melanie has moved over thirty times, hence the nomadic nature, but for now she resides in the West with the love of her life So-kr8z the Pup.) To some this urge to move might seem exciting, however, sometimes it is not. For example, she spent a year living in Rawlins, Wyoming where she was blown back and forth across the road and where she ran home from school every day on the lookout for dark vans that kidnapped children. She once peed her pants while frantically searching for her latchkey.

Melanie just graduated with the most marketable degree ever - a BA in English with a minor in Religious Studies.  While she's itching to plan her next great adventure, for now she plans to "apply ass to chair."  You never know, however, someday she might end up being your next door neighbor.
