How to Manifest Your Desires

In this week’s Spirit Junkie vlog I riff on manifestat~ing. The key to manifesting your desires is to tap into your love energy and inspiration. Energy attracts like energy. Therefore if you feel the feelings of romantic love you’re attracting romance towards you — or if you feel abundant then you’re attracting more abundance. In this video I guide you to connect to the feelings behind your desires.

Is Your "Upper Limit" Sabotaging Your Success?

Marie Forleo

It was the first time I’ve ever walked out of a yoga workshop in my life. Let’s be clear — the teachers were fantastic.

But after my fourth downward dog, I started breaking into a cold sweat, got nauseated and my head began throbbing so hard it felt like it was about to explode. “Oh great,” I thought.

How To Get Happy In 90 Seconds Or Less

Have you ever noticed how your happiness seems dependent on people doing what you want them to do or circumstances working out the way you want them to?  Yeah, me too.

When they do: Great! Nothing succeeds like success!

But what if people don’t do what you want and things don’t go your way? Not so great, right?

The Manifesto of Encouragement

right now:

There are Tibetan Buddhist monks in a temple in the Himalayas endlessly reciting mantras for the cessation of your suffering and for the flourishing of your happiness.

Someone you haven't met yet is already dreaming of adoring you.

Year Of The Tiger: Who Is Your Tigger?

Metal Tiger

We are in the final few months of the Chinese Horoscope’s Metal Tiger year. As an acupuncturist in Mill Valley, the flow of energy and Qi is a pivotal focus in my life both personally and professionally. This year of the Metal Tiger held the portent of upheaval and of grand scale, sometimes-painful change. However within that forecast of some chaos, the big cat’s term held the seed of passage, which healed and expanded heretofore unresolved issues. Such instances reflect the discerning logic of the Element of Metal within the athletic boundings of the Tiger.

Are Men Really Happier Than Women?

The other day I got one of those email forwards – you know, one of those anonymously written messages that sometimes comes with an introductory “This made me laugh” or “So true!” from the sender. These days it’s rare that I get such an email, and it’s even more rare that I read it. But when this one appeared in my inbox, I just had to look, in that can’t-stop-watching-a-train-wreck sort of way. Its title: “Why men are never depressed.” Its first line: “Men are just happier people -- What do you expect from such simple creatures?”

What's It Going To Take?

What's it going to take? It occurred to me recently that this is a mighty powerful question.

We usually use that phrase in dire circumstances. What's it going to take for you to wake up? What's it going to take for me to quit? What's it going to take for them to realize?

What Would You Sacrifice For Community?

Happy Saturday Posse Party, Pinkies (that's always a mouthful)! Please welcome back Trish Rankin, mother of our own Dr. Lissa and Pinkie extraordinaire, joining us today to talk about the power and possibility of community. Enjoy, and thanks Trish!

A few months ago I went to visit the only active Shaker Village in existence, with Shakers still living there -- three to be exact. The only three left in the world, living in Maine. While learning the doctrine behind their existence, I discovered three things that make them unique: common goods, celibacy, and confession of sin. Doesn’t sound like much fun? Give up all of your possessions to move in with hundreds of others, choose to be celibate for the rest of your lives (even if you are married at the time), and confess your wrongdoings to another in your community? The reason I was so impressed with this sect was that the guide not only told us how hard they worked all day and usually into the evenings, but how happy they were. Over and over she stressed it. They were happy.

Happiness Is Like A Butterfly

Happiness is like a butterfly; the more you chase it, the more it will elude you, but if you turn your attention to other things, it will come and sit softly on your shoulder... - Henry David Thoreau
