Melanie wrote her awesome post about how perfect procrastination paralyzes her in writing her novel and boy can I relate to that. Not only is the flower-arranging gene preventing me from writing anything longer than a blog post these days (my novel and screenplay lie unwritten too), BUT, I’ve come to understand something important for my writing, my life, my business and my ability to succeed – success is messy.

I am staring at a blank page.
My daughter is sleeping. So is The Husband. And here I am. Finally able to sit down at the computer to let the thoughts I’ve been hoarding in my head spill on to the page.
This is a frequent occurrence in my home; this little moment of solitude one I steal from myself. After the dishes have been done, the laundry taken out of the dryer, and lunch packed for The Husband’s next work shift, I forgo sleep for a moment of creativity.

In honor of the beta-launch of my first ever Owning Pink e-course Get Out Of Your Own Way: Free Yourself From Fear And Worry And Leap Into Your Dreams, I’ll be posting a series of posts based on Get Out Of Your Own Way superstars who have implemented the principles of the e-course. Let’s start with Michelle Medina.

Ever had one of those awesome moments when you know why the heck you're on this planet and what you want to do with the time left to you? Your heart swells with passion and you have no end of energy to do that thing your most authentic self came here to do. Yeah! Like that! It's a rush, isn't it? It's like you're walking on air, like the burdens of the world are just GONE and you are in true alignment with the Universe. You look up at the heavens and scream, "Yeah, God! I OWN this. More of this!"
This was me over the holidays.
Then Jan 3 arrived.

Human beings are capable of incredible transformation. We break through. We break down. We re-invent and we rise from the ashes. Some people even manage to make quantum leaps and extreme emotional makeovers.
But for most of us, we are just who we are and that’s that. People don't change very much. Not really. Your every day “you-ness” has been there since you got here, (just ask your dad, or your kindergarten teacher, or any astrologer). Extroverted. Jovial. Tender-hearted. Curious. Cautious. Exacting. Bold. For better or worse, your essential personality is likely going to keep on keepin’ on.

I'm not sure there is a bigger question than this. It bears repeating: what...is...your relationship to life?
I was in Kauai in the fall and read Eckhart Tolle's A New Earth between beaches. And this question of his became my walking, rambling, meditation. "What is my relationship...to LIFE?!" Daunting.
