After being part of the Owning Pink Team for over a year as the Community Manager and Communications Director, it occurred to me that what I really wanted was to be an Owning Pink Life Coach. So in July of 2010 I began a coaching certification program with Frame of Mind Coaching. I loved their program because they believe that journaling plays a HUGE role in personal transformation. Self development has always been a passion of mine and since Lissa informed me that becoming an Owning Pink life coach meant I had to be certified (because I am only 24), I jumped on board with the program.
A couple weeks ago I had my last and final call with my one on one coach, Adi, for this phase of my certification. One incredible thing I got out of this call was that I have a lot to acknowledge myself for -- something I more than often overlook.

This past weekend, my magical eyes got taken for a wild ride. I encountered one of the most challenging magical eye experiences I have ever taken on. At the time it wasn’t clear to me that my magical eyes were the only thing that would save me in this situation. But I was determined to find the underlying value in the conflict that arose.

Growing up, particularly while I was in elementary and middle school, I can remember being friends with certain people who my mother didn’t approve of. I saw the reasons for her disapproval -- but I also saw something different that these people had to offer. It put my concern for safety in the backseat and the love of friendship in the front.

This game of life is tricky sometimes. At the moments when we feel like we are furthest from reaching our goals, we are actually just around the corner from having our wildest dreams swirling in the palm of our hands.
I want to be a life coach.
This is something I have wanted to do my whole life. Only when I was younger I didn’t know such a thing existed. I thought the only way to take on this kind of role in human development was to be a psychologist and frankly I didn’t want to spend the time or money on going to school that long.

The topic of decluttering is a hard one for me to address in a sane way, mostly because it irritates the sh-t out of me.
I don’t know what is in the air, but for the past year or so the conversation has been swarming around me. Perhaps it is the shift of consciousness that will take place in 2012. Or maybe we are all realizing that it is not our stuff that makes us, but rather the love we give and receive.

I love watching the conversation around the Pink Effect and using Magical Eyes in our lives grow on a weekly basis. It makes my personal mission of spreading love much easier, by having Pinkies like you to contribute. This week, I would like to introduce you to Lori-Lyn Hurley. I got chills and tears as I listened to her share her story of Magical Eyes. I expect this video will do that same for you.

Using Magical Eyes in our relationships, I have found, is one of the best ways to create magic in our lives.
I moved to Austin, Texas in 2006 from my home, away from my family, away from friends and everything I knew to be familiar in 2006 with $150 in my bank account and a dream of finding something bigger than what I had in Dallas. The first place I got a job was at a holistic verterinarian clinic, Crystal Mountain Animal Hospital. Little did I know, this place would become much more then a job to me. The experiences I had and lessons I learned have stuck with me through the years.

When I arrived in Kansas as a part of The Magical Eyes Tour, I was overjoyed. The trip had been a long time coming since I discovered Shannon Kinney-Duh through her blog Free Spirit Knits. She has been an inspiration to my way of living since I learned about her existence! It was only natural that I make her home part of The Magical Eyes Tour and plan a Pink Salon while I was visiting.

As we spoke over dinner and then a stroll in the park, we began to see how we might help each other through our passions. Lucky for all of us, I got to interview Sheena on what role Magical Eyes played in her life. Read More...
