How to Have an Invincible New Year

invincible new year

Yahoo! A new post from the illustrious Tama Kieves, author of This Time I Dance! Creating The Work You Love. This week Tama inspires us with powerful tips on how to own your mojo into the new year. Thanks, Tama!

This year don't set hollow goals or inflated ones, ones that will make up for every choice you didn't make before. That's like getting out a whip-- and calling it a rose. This year I want you to cultivate a power and presence within you that allows you to choose your good all the time, that takes every circumstance of your life and makes it a crucible that uses all of you. You are so much more than one year can offer. You are so much more than a few paltry achievements, even if they sound like the moon to you.

Everyday As The New Year

Please welcome the extraordinary Laura Campbell, Divorce Expert and Life Reinvention Coach, as well as the founder of The D Spot where she supports women to regroup, renew and reinvent themselves before, during and after divorce. With our recent conversations on religion and 9/11, this post on Rosh Hashana and renewal feels timely -- and who doesn't need an excuse for a little renewal on a Monday? Thanks, Laura!

Last week was Rosh Hashanah, also known as the Jewish New Year.

Each year since becoming an adult, I have eagerly anticipated the arrival of the Jewish New Year in September and the opportunity for reflection and renewal. Perhaps it is that Rosh Hashanah occurs just as the beginning of the school year arrives, that has created for me a true sense of renewal and reinvention.

Owning YOU On New Year’s Eve

champagne_glasses_with_pink_bow_stickers-p217031909352106853qjcl_400New Year’s Eve has never been my favorite holiday. Drinking loads of champagne, staying up late, balls dropping at midnight…it’s just never really been my thing. Especially now that I’m a mother with a child who gets up at 6am, staying up until 1am just sounds like a good way to ruin New Year’s Day. Last year, we all toasted at 10pm and scurried off to bed. Yeah, so maybe it’s kind of lame, but I just didn’t see the point of heralding in the new year at the very moment it arrived.

Leslee Horner's Vision Board for 2009

Towards the end of 2008, I had a realization that despite all my spiritual growth there were still some major pieces missing from my puzzle. And as 2009 approached I wanted change in my life. I’d read and watched The Secret and was well aware of vision boards and their power. I’d made one of my own but the process in which I created it lacked the love and intention necessary for magic to happen. When my friend, life coach Elizabeth Barbour, told me about her New Year’s day retreat called “Design a Divine 2009”, in which the day would center around creating vision boards, I signed up immediately.
