After years working in education and outreach for various institutions, I started my own! It's a virtual women's institute called FemCentral and is located at JenniferLShelton.com. I have a long time interest in human rights, and when I saw the cover of the New York Times Magazine for August 23, 2009 – Why Women’s Rights are the Issue of Our Time – I knew where I truly wanted to focus my efforts. There are many wonderful organizations out there that do great work on solving specific problems related to women. I want to focus, however, on the innate strengths of femininity, engendering a new respect for the feminine (and men have a feminine side too!). Mother Teresa is quoted as saying, “I was once asked why I don’t participate in anti-war demonstrations. I said that I will never do that, but as soon as you have a pro-peace rally, I’ll be there.” I want to rally people to accept and love and cultivate and nurture the feminine within themselves, which will also lead them to respect the feminine within others. I have been working in education and outreach for over fifteen years (see my consulting service at SheltonEOT.com), and I am excited to combine my professional skills with my passion.
I also work as an intuitive astrologer. I love to help clients recognize and accept all parts of themselves, encouraging their uniqueness. What works for one person may be disastrous for another, so I point out ways they can “work their chart,” using their natural talents to achieve whatever their goals may be.
I'm also an adjunct faculty member for Franklin University, teaching classes in global cultures. Most importantly, I'm a MOM!
